03/2014 – Present

Freelance Translator (En/De/It>Sp/Cat)

  • Through different intermediaries, I have work distributed on big brands such as Amazon, Google Shopping Ads, Ebay, Etsy or Tourismbuilder, e-commerce sites specialized in very different sectors, from fashion to technology or health, as well as games, education or tourism.
  • I regularly collaborate with big entertainment providers with whom I have subtitled or Quality Checked series, movies and documentaries for Netflix, Fox, NBC and Sony.
  • A big part of my commissions come to me from direct clients, so it’s impossible to name them all: from a small Spanish entrepreneur who wants his slushies-selling business to take off, to a big German company trying to internationalize its online videogames market. Translator and Content Manager (En/De>Sp) – Statista (Hamburgo; Germany)

  • Co-translating and localizing the website www.statista.com due to new site launch, as well as translating the CMS, e-mail templates, presentations for clients and promotional material.
  • Coordinate the localization process with the IT department and with a parallel team
  • Proofreading co-workers’ translations.
  • Content creation and translation for the topics retail and FMCG in Spain (fashion, cosmetics, food, toys…).
  • Project manager for a short-term project (implementing CAT tools, conducting tutorials, monitoring the translation’ team.)

Translator and proofreader for the magazine El
Temps
 (En/De>Cat) – El Temps (Valencia; Spain)

  • Translating and proofreading magazine articles from the German magazine der Spiegel.
  • Main topics: politics, history, literature and culture.

Experience as a Language Teacher

English Teacher – Official Language School (Cornellà de Llobregat; Barcelona)

  • Conversation courses of different levels for adults in which special emphasis is placed on the continuous inclusion of dynamic activities.
  • Planning and implementing a special intensive course for high school students preparing for the official B1 or B2 exam.
  • Intensive summer courses of different nature, both cultural and linguistic.

Spanish Assistant Professor in Germany – Otto-Hahn-Schule (Hamburgo; Germany)

  • Planning and teaching Spanish courses to German students aged 12 to 20 in group and one-on-one.
  • Preparing presentations about culture and different workshops (cinema, theatre, cooking, etc.).

  • Planning and teaching Spanish intensive courses to adults from different countries (at different levels.)

Tour Guide – (Barcelona)

  • I took teaching to the streets of Barcelona, where I offer walking tours in which history, culture and language intertwine.
  • I arrange historic tours in the medieval center and in the modernist side of Barcelona, as well as gastronomic experiences.
  • I worked mainly with the company Craft Tours – among the leaders of its sector on Trip Advisor -, and Localers, a Parisian company operating in Barcelona.

Completed as part of an Erasmus program in Denmark and Norway, which involved a four-month course about the use of

I’m subscribed to Traduversia, one of the most important platforms in Spain for translators who specialize in Audiovisual Translation and Website Localization. They distribute useful information about the film industry around the world, and the last tools and resources for Subtitling and Website Translation. I am also active in several Translators’ Lounges and groups.

In addition, I am a member of a local association in Barcelona that provides courses for entrepreneurs to be always up to date, as well as gatherings and mentoring programs for networking.

Lastly, I have several related personal projects. One of most important is the creation of a web application for interpreters’ training.
